Forget dusty Civil War stories...we dig into the weird, wild and wicked history of Galena. From Native American legends to French explorers, pirates, brothels and ghosts, this town has truly seen it all! Our tour dives deep into the strange characters, shocking stories and spooky mysteries that shaped Galena! The Galena Pirate Tour is part history, part legend, part pirate romp. Think sarcasm, with and fun with a splash of bawdy storyteling! We don't sugarcoat the past, but we also don't take ourselves too seriously!
Real Galena History (the weird stuff)
Hire your Alligator Horse and load up yer flatboat! Galena is old. Really old. And we're going to talk not only about the famous people and big events that helped shape this area but also the common people and their daily lives, secrets and the often strange things that happened to them and the harsh reality of their daily lives.
Galena Spookiness is a Thing
Galena is home to some scary tales and spirits! From Native American legends of long ago monsters and settler sightings and experiences with creatures 'down below' as well as some good old fashioned ghost stories be in this tour...and all manner of things that go bump in the night!
Scandalous! Galena is a Dirty Old Town...
Every town has it's secrets, and we're going to talk about them! From brothels and boozing tales to "we're pretty sure they were pirates but they didn't say it" scoundrels and scallywags, ladies of the night, horse races in the street, petticoat crimes and so, so much debauchery. Real lives, real wickedness and crimes of early settlers abound!

Ships' Articles:
* Starts at 303 South Main Street outside Galena Apothecary.
* Time: 8:00 pm sharp (don't be late...pirates wait for no one!)
* Duration: About 90 Minutes
* Includes some stairs and walking
* No restroom stops, please use facilities beforehand.
* Please no talking over the stories
* Disruptive, rude or drunk? Ye be walking the plank with no refund!
* Dress for the weather and walking
* No kids under 12, no pets (service animals only), no refunds unless we cancel for weather.
*Photos welcome (NO recording)
* No smoking on the tour
* No drinking on the tour...but afterward?

* You CAN dress as a pirate!
* We don't care if you drink before the tour. Just don't be disruptive, rude or drunk.
* Tour is interactive...say it with me...
* Repeat after me: I, a grown adult, have an excuse to dress as a pirate!
* After tour drinking, even with the guide, is safely encouraged. Feel free to ask for recommendations.
